Event Details

Description:

Create your own woodworking class at Artisan's Asylum! If you've always wanted to take a woodworking class, but never wanted to make whatever it was the class was building, then this is the class for you.

Pete Montague will be guiding students through independent projects in the Artisan's Asylum woodshop. Students can get assistance with new projects, unfinished projects, one-on-one power and hand tool training, material recommendations, design advice, finishing tips, tool purchasing, vendors and more. All skill levels and all projects welcome!

Registration is available for 2-week sessions -- students are welcome to sign up for as many sessions as they like/need.

Tools and Supplies:

Please contact the instructor if any special tools are needed. Feel free to bring in hand tools or small power tools of your own.

Personal protective equipment (safety glasses, hearing protection, dust masks, etc.) is available in the woodworking shop at Artisan's Asylum. Even so, it is recommended that students bring their own, as the selection in the shop can vary and be limited.

Safety:

Many of these tools are very dangerous if used improperly - please treat them with respect! Safe shop practices for each process and tool will be demonstrated during the class. Students are expected to help maintain a safe work environment for every class participant.

Shop cleanliness is crucial to maintaining a safe work environment. 10-15 minutes at the end of every class session will be dedicated to cleanup.
