The Alameda County Women’s Hall of Fame was established in 1993 through a partnership involving the Alameda County Board of Supervisors, the Alameda County Health Care Foundation, and the Alameda County Commission on the Status of Women. The Women's Hall of Fame recognizes outstanding women for their achievements and contributions to the Alameda County community and its residents.  The program honors women in 13 different categories at an annual luncheon and awards ceremony.  Through this event and other community activities, the Women’s Hall of Fame generates funds to support the “Leading the Way” youth scholarship fund and local community-based organizations that help women and families in Alameda County.
