Women Veterans National Sisterhood 5K Walk/Run
Saturday, September 7, 2013 from 7:00 AM to 1:30 PM (EDT)
San Francisco, California
London, United Kingdom
Join us in our walk to support the "Sisterhood" of women of the military. Our first 5K themed to directly support women veterans, or spouses who are seeking to defeat the silent wounds of "Domestic Violence" in military families.
We support our military women, and spouses who not only contributed, or fought so we could live, but are fighting to stay alive themself mentally or physically. It's not just the veteran who suffers from deployment, it's the entire family.
Domestic Violence and Rape Crimes are silent self-esteem killers and are continuing to rise in the military. RFWV aspires to help women believe in the sound of their voice again, know that they matter, and understand they are still our "Sheroes."
Funds for this event will go towards supporting women in the military family’s safety, meet the basic needs for their household, low income veteran families by assisting in rent payments, security deposits, moving cost, ultimately permanent and stable housing, and help them regain their courage through "THE SOUNDS OF HER VOICE!"
Our day will include....
Face Painting for Children
Our Backpack Drive
Vendors... and much more!
ANYONE who supports women veterans is invited to participate (Male or Female). Purchase your ticket today!
