Turning Conflict into a Connected, Collaborative and Co-Creative Experience –

A Primer for Women Leaders and Professionals

Research shows that an aversion to conflict is one of the common roadblocks in the workplace that holds women leaders back from moving to the next level. Whether in our professional or personal lives, we can get entangled in unnecessary conflict drama. We waste our precious energy battling people we imagine as foes, defending ourselves from apparent enemies, and rescuing others from perceived tyrants. These are dynamics that we’ve learned to play out; yet when we become conscious of them, we have the ability to choose new roles that allow us to be more genuinely powerful and productive.

At this workshop, participants will:

  • Learn about the three key roles we unconsciously play that create unnecessary drama, and identify how these roles have impacted power dynamics throughout our lives
  • Experiment with each of the three roles in conflict dramas, to get an inner sense of the roles, needs, and unexpressed power
  • Discover an approach to conflict that empowers everyone into collaborative "power with," rather than "power over"
  • Define strategies for transforming dynamics in your own environment

Join us on April 22, 2014 for a spectacular luncheon and conflict management workshop with Dr. Susan Bernstein!

About Dr. Susan Bernstein

Susan’s keen ability to support her clients in becoming confident, connected, collaborative, and co-creative leaders comes from partly from pragmatic MBA strategic perspective that she honed in demanding executive development and management consulting roles at companies including Franklin-Covey, Intel, and Accenture. The other part comes from deep psychological insights into the nature of personal and professional transformation, gleaned from her PhD level training in the cutting-edge perspectives of Somatic Psychology, also known as mind/body psychology, which draws from neuroscience, neurobiology, and mindfulness practices. She blends her talents to help clients move past the internal and external roadblocks that hold them back and create the momentum they seek for making positive change.

Susan earned her MBA at UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business and both an MA and a PhD in Somatic Psychology (also known as Mind-Body Psychology) at the Santa Barbara Graduate Institute, which became a division of the Chicago School for Professional Psychology.
