This will be a round table discussion directed toward ESP's including PowerPoint presentations and handouts.

Discussion on actions you can take to enforce your collective bargaining agreement including using the grievance process, cease & desist letters, and Unfair Labor Practice chargers.

Session 3 - FCPE
The session will include information about the recent survey done by a consulting firm hired by the OEA Governmental Services Department. OEA UniServ Political Advocacy Consultant, Dan Ramos, will share “best practices” from districts around the state. There will be time for questions at the end of the session.

Session 7 - NEA Member Benefits/STRS Update
Your special opportunity to discuss retirement planning with a representative from STRS. Your retirement may be as long as your teaching career. We will discuss all your retirement options, including deciding when to retire, cola options, PLOP’s, and much more. Also we will include options on supplementing your retirement income. Your representatives from STRS have worked hard to preserve your defined benefit retirement plan for years to come. Event Details

You are invited to attend the WOEA Fall Forum on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at Northmont High School. This event is open to all elected OEA and WOEA delegates as well as any WOEA member.

WOEA's Core Function Committees, OEA, and NEA Member Benefits are sponsoring several sessions. Maximize your local association's potential by attending this fall's forum. This event not only provides sessions and discussions on hot topics in education, but it also brings together leaders whose knowledge and experience you can tap into for the benefit of your local association. Take advantage of the education and networking opportunities available.

WOEA will give away a grand prize (iPad 16GB, Wi-Fi + Verizon 4G) at the conclusion of the event as well as six $50 gas cards. Members must attend the opening ceremony, one session and be present to win.

There is no charge to attend the evening's forum which includes dinner.

Several sessions will be offered during the WOEA Fall Forum. Please select one session to attend from the list above. All sessions begin at 6 pm and last for approximately 1 hour.

Phil Long, WOEA-R, will be collecting gently used books for the WOEAR/WOEA Book Drive. Please bring your books with you to the Fall Forum!

ATTENTION WOEA MEMBERS....

Online registration is now open for the WOEA Fall Forum on November 14, 2012 at Northmont High School. This forum is open to all WOEA members. The forum includes the OEA briefing, updates from OEA officers, speeches from candidates for the NEA #6 position, dinner, and a choice of seven sessions to attend. WOEA will give away an iPad and six $50 gas cards at the conclusion of the meeting.
