Kimberly Kovacs (Executive Vice President, Solium | Founder & Former CEO, OptionEase | Acquired November 2012)


Ms. Kimberly Kovacs is the co-founder and CEO of OptionEase, the leading network connector for complex equity compliance applications delivered on-demand via software-as-a-service (SaaS) which was purchased by Solium Capital (SUM.TXU) in November 2012.  OptionEase has more than 700 clients ranging from emerging venture-backed private entities to Fortune 100 organizations with over 100,000 equity plan participants.


Prior to the acquisition in 2012, and for the second year in a row, OptionEase was honored by INC Magazine as one of the fastest growing companies in the United States.   Inc. named OptionEase the 19th fastest growing company in the Los Angeles area and the 22nd fastest growing software business in the U.S. B2B CFO named OptionEase a winner in its 2012 Smart 25 awards, based on its strong and sustainable growth.  Orange County Business Journal also honored OptionEase as one of its Fastest Growing Companies in Orange County and B2B CFO named OptionEase a winner in its Smart 25 Awards, because of its strong and sustainable growth and commitment to innovation.


Ms. Kovacs has a distinguished career in executive leadership and finance. She was on the board of Alpha Project in the 1990′s, securing over $50M in funding from HUD to preserve low income housing. At ORXYE Energy, as CFO and board member, she testified in Congress in concert with the EPA on clean energy regulations, assisted in bringing major oil companies into regulatory discussions and resolution that ultimately resulted in Ms. Hillary Clinton’s involvement and final adoption of the Clean Energy standards in the U.S.


Kim Kovacs recently created Arroyo Ventures and have been selected for the Board Seat of OCTANE.    




Matt Newman (CEO)


Matt began programming at the age of 11 and mastering Java in 1995.  By the age of 14, he owned a computer hardware company that he operated out of his family's home. After graduating from high school, he joined ewine.com as an intern and was appointed Director of Engineering three months later. He also worked as a freelance graphic designer and computer consultant before entering the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California, where he focused on corporate finance, corporate financial strategies, and corporate finance law. In addition to his role as CEO and lead engineer at Newman Infinite, Matt is also currently a tech advisor for the City of Ogden, UT, and Weber State University.


In 2010, Matt decided to take on the challenge of simplifying the internet by creating cloud-based artificially intelligent visual software that would forever eliminate the need for coding custom software, including website design.  His company, Newman Infinite, has created yGGLE, an in-browser freestyle visual design tool that eliminates the need for template designs and user programming.  


Matt Newman has 70% Women in his Workforce. He has raised millions of dollars and will shine light on alternative ways of funding in LA Tech Startup Ecosystem.




Barbara Boxer (BELLE Capital USA Fund)


Barbara Boxer is a Managing Director of BELLE Capital USA Fund and serves as LeBe Inc.’s chief executive officer. She has more than 20 years experience in advising and investing in early stage companies.  Barbara Boxer has served as vice chairman of the Investment Committee for BELLE Capital, LP.  She is also the Founder and Managing Member of Women Angels, LLC, an investment group with more than 100 women investors in Miami FL, Milwaukee WI, Chicago IL, and Washington, DC. Women Angels, LLC.


BELLE Capital USA Fund is an early stage investment fund, which focuses its investments on women owned or managed technology businesses around the US. BELLE Capital USA was formed in late 2012 and has made three investments in women owned tech companies in 2013.




Eva Ho


Eva Ho (Partner at Susa Ventures & Former Founding Executive at Factual)


Eva was a founding executive at Factual and now runs an early stage tech fund called Susa Ventures.  Susa invests in companies that yield an exponential 'return on data'.  Since its inception in September 2012, Susa Ventures has made investments in Declara, Whisper, Lendup, Lyst, CaseText, Frontback, Standard Treasury and others.  Prior, she was a Senior Product Marketing Manager at Google and Youtube for 5 years.  Prior to Google, she was the head of marketing for Applied Semantics, a company that sold to Google in 2003.  She is also active in the non-profit sector, serving on the boards of First Descents, Iridescent and Whole Child LA.  She also serves as an advisor to WebFWD, MuckerLab, Common Crawl, and newMe Accelerator.  Eva holds an MBA from Cornell and a BA from Harvard.
