- WESTSIDE ANDY
Legendary Madison mainstay and touring harp man with Reverend Raven, Mel Ford, Hubert Sumlin, and Pinetop Perkins
by R.C. Harris
*"First off, for truth in advertising, I'm a totally biased fan of Westside Andy's harp playing. Been so since dirt was invented.
More modern facts include that Hohner, Inc. lists him as an endorser alongside Rod Piazza, Toots Thielemans, & Corky Siegel, among many other great players. Those who know who these folks are, nothing further need be said. Turn the page. For those who haven't had that good fortune, know that these are giants on Planet Harmonica. Actually, Corky was one of Andy's most enthusiastic early mentors. In fact, the night they met during a Siegel/Schwall Blues Band set break, Corky asked him to sit in for the entire next set. Andy was 15. That may have been the galvanizing moment when the "Westside" story really started. Meaning thousands of gigs. Probably a million miles with a trunk full of gear, and how many late nights driving home in ice and snow in the groovy winters of Wisconsin where this blues bird resides. In the process, Andy has shared the stage with James Cotton, Luther Allison, Sonny Terry & Brownie McGhee, Charlie Musselwhite, Doobie Brothers, Richie Havens, Muddy Waters, Gary Primich, Jimmy Johnson, Tab Benoit, Hubert Sumlin. Ok, you get the idea. Not to mention his current long-time collaboration with Mel Ford, a blues guitarist/vocalist/songwriter of wide acclaim. And thus, the name of the band. The Westside Andy/Mel Ford Band. Like a winter night's drink. Neat and hot.
But enough of this. Give a listen, and see if the boogie man don't dance." *http://westsideandy.com/bio.aspx
- LIL' REV with Michael Lee Ammons (guitar)
Lil’ Rev is a great multi-instrumentalist touring harp man
*"Lil Rev grew up in Milwaukee, WI where he still resides today. Growing up in the shadows of American Motors Corp, Briggs N Stratton, and A.O. Smith, he was inspired by the sights and sounds of an industrial powerhouse in flux. His music is infused with a strong sense of humility for the common man. His heroes include: Pete Seeger, Woody Guthrie, Josh White, Sonny Terry, Cicso Houston and Leadbelly. After graduating in 1987 from John Marshall High School, Lil Rev went on to earn his Bachelors Degree in Community Education from UW-Milwaukee. Following his college education, Rev decided to take a job working for local 998 as a city bus driver under the Milwaukee County Transit System. He stayed on for 1 year before the urge for going was too strong! From 1993 to 2000, Lil Rev traveled extensively throughout the Midwest, performing in coffee houses, at house concerts, in schools, libraries, temples, on streetcorners, in taverns and at folk festivals. From 2000 to 2005, Lil Rev decided it was time to ply his trade as a full time grade school music teacher (Milwaukee Jewish Day School) and as an adjunct lecturer/music historian at The University of WI- Milwaukee. Following 5 years of teaching, the road called and Lil Rev knew it was time to court the muse once again! Since that time, Lil Rev has stayed very busy, writing over 8 instructional ukulele books for Hal Leonard, while touring North America extensively. He tours the east each fall and the south and west in the winter months, while also flying around North America to teach and perform at Ukulele Festivals. While Lil Rev is well known for his ukulele and harmonica stylings, he is also a seasoned multi-instrumentalist equally adept at old time banjo, flat-pick guitar and blues mandolin. If you're looking to book Lil Rev, he performs for kids, seniors, veterans, developmentally disabled and anyone who is willing to listen! Rev has over 24 years of music experience, working throughout the community, uplifting, empowering and entertaing all.He can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org" *http://www.lilrev.com/about

Dan Lloyd - guitar
Tim Walter - bass
Frank Nicotera - drums
The always great Danny Miller Band
*"Danny Miller has been playing the blues in southeast Wisconsin for the last thirty five years with some of Wisconsin's best musicians. In that time he has collected a loyal group of fans who love to listen and dance to his music which features his soulful voice and soaring harmonica solos. Danny started his career with "Rocket 88" and played with several bands over the years, including Plumb Loco and the well known "Cahoots" before forming his own group in 1980. Danny won the 2002 WAMI (Wisconsin Area Music Industry) Award winner as a harmonica player and is an acknowledged "Master" of the instrument. Danny was nominated for a WAMI again in 2004. His talents are in demand and he has contributed solos to the CD's of many local artists. He continues to make guest appearances when the situation calls for a great "harp" player."
- JAY EDWARD (THE JAY EDWARD BAND)
Jay honed his craft in the tough west coast Los Angeles market. Home to the heaviest harp men in the USA
Jay began his career in the Milwaukee/Fox River Valley area of the midwest playing clubs well before reaching the legal age limit. Inspired by a performance of The Paul Butterfield Blues Band, Jay decided to drop guitar and move into blues harp and vocals. Jay has formed and fronted many bands throughout his 30 year music career including: Badly Bent, ...The Nightcrawlers™, The Casper Blues Band with Jay Edward, Saving Grace and several others. In recent years his bands have opened for such artists as Bonnie Raitt, Delbert McClinton, The Fabulous Thunderbirds and many others. Jay remains a committed professional now honoring his harmonica influences such as Little Walter, George Smith, William Clarke and of course, the great Paul Butterfield."
*"This exciting Mid-west styled, harmonica-fueled band is second to none on the LA scene. With a hard-hitting Chicago blues approach akin to early Paul Butterfield and thrilling propulsive rhythm section, The Jay Edward Band is the "Must See" new band of 2012 Band Members: Jay Edward (Harp/Vocals), Jerry Lee Luithle (Bass/Vocals) , Barry Levenson (Guitar-formerly of Canned Heat), TC Markel, (drums) with guest featured artists such as Johnna Schulz, Brophy Dale (guitar) and Rick Reed, bass."

A Sincere Thank You To:
*"Tom Radai is the longest surviving Blues agent/Mgr.in the USA. The multiple WC Handy/ KBA recipient, European Music Award and National Leadership Award winner, has been in business longer then anyone still active in the Blues Scene. Tom has said that his curiosity about Blues culture peaked when he started hanging out at Maxwell Street in the early 1960's and meeting some of the people who were eventually to become his clients. His love for the music came at an even earlier age when most teenagers were interested in other things. Tom Radai's roots in the Blues are long and deep. Initially launching his career in booking and management in 1964 with his first client, Otis Spann. Tom soon added to his talent roster the likes of Johnny Young, Eddie Taylor, Johnny Littlejohn and Charlie Musselwhite from 1968 to 1979. Tom Radai's Blues Management Group soon became notorious for the 'Blues All Star' packages he toured world-wide. One such package based out of Chicago teamed Jimmy Rogers and Eddie Taylor, Detroit Jr./Johnny 'Big Moose' Walker, Wild Child Butler, Sam Lay, Bob Anderson and Lucile Spann. A few years after this package toured the legendary Jimmy Rogers became a full time client which lead to a relationship lasting nearly 25 years, which included engagements with the Rolling Stones and Eric Clapton, numerous national television appearances, and a monumental recording on Atlantic Records. A 'West-coast AllStar' package that Tom organized in the late 1970's included the legendary George 'Harmonica' Smith teamed with the great Phillip Walker plus a second young harmonica genius by the name of William Clarke. In addition to his Blues credentials, Tom has promoted Rock & Blues concert series that included The Grateful Dead, Quicksilver Messenger, and Canned Heat. Tom Radai's talent roster had included: The Phillip Walker Band, The Jimmy Rogers Legacy (tribute to Jimmy Rogers.) Eddie Taylor Jr., Steve Guyger, plus 'The NEW Legends Of Blues AllStars' (Eddie Taylor Jr., Steve Guyger, Bob Stroger, Billy Flynn and 'Piano Willie'). In addition The NEW Legends Of Blues Duo with Steve Guyger and Billy Flynn. Tom has been a tireless advocate for Traditional Blues, one reason why over 75% of his talent roster have stayed for an unprecedented 15 to 25 years. He is still doing business in the USA, Canada, Europe.
