Winter Event on Insider Threats with a Social
Wednesday, February 27, 2013 from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM (EST)
A company can often detect or control when an outsider (non-employee) tries to access company data either physically or electronically, and can mitigate the threat of an outsider stealing company property. However, the thief who is harder to detect and who could cause the most damage is the insider—the employee with legitimate access. That insider may steal solely for personal gain, or that insider may be a “spy”—someone who is stealing company information or products in order to benefit another organization or country.
InfraGard Members Alliance Pittsburgh is hosting it's Winter Event at the Rock Bottom Restaurant and Brewery on February 27, 2013. Appetizers and networking will begin at 5pm. A speaker from the FBI Pittsburgh office will discuss Insider Threats beginning at 6pm.
Appetizers, soft drinks and coffee will be provided courtesy of the chapter. A cash bar will be available for those interested.
This event is open to the general public. If you are not a member of the InfraGard Pittsburgh Members Alliance and would like to join, please visit our main website at http://www.infragard-pittsburgh.org. Some events in the future may be limited to current InfraGard members.
When & Where
The InfraGard program is a public / private cooperative effort dedicated to improving our national security. InfraGard consists of chapters throughout the United States and has thousands of members. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) leads the U.S. Government side of InfraGard. The private sector side of InfraGard is led by a non-profit corporation, the InfraGard National Members Alliance, which consists of local InfraGard Members Alliances throughout the country. An InfraGard “chapter” refers to the local FBI, the local InfraGard Members Alliance, and the local InfraGard members working together. “InfraGard” is a registered service mark of the FBI.
InfraGard provides both formal and informal channels for the exchange of information about our nation’s critical infrastructures and key resources. InfraGard's continuing mission is to increase information and intelligence sharing between the FBI (and other government agencies) and InfraGard members to strengthen the defense of our nation.
InfraGard Pittsburgh is a cooperative effort of the FBI Pittsburgh Division and the InfraGard Pittsburgh Members Alliance. InfraGard Pittsburgh registered its first member in October 1999 and since then has grown to more than 500 members strong. InfraGard Pittsburgh strives to host unique events and build valuable relationships between individual members, as well as between InfraGard members and the FBI.
