Hosted by ThinkData Solutions, Inc, Presented by Todd Miranda, MVP and Glen Gordon, Microsoft.
The hack-a-thon will start with an hour or two of instructive material on building Windows Store Applications for Windows 8. The rest of the day will be for you to dig in and start building the next big Windows 8 app. Take advantage of onsite resources, team up or go it alone. Do you have an idea for an application? Do you have a startup that would like to target the Windows 8 platform? Then you need to be here. This is an ideal opportunity. There will be people there that have built Windows 8 applications and submitted them to the store. They will be there to help mentor and answer questions. That is a free resource that you may not have access to otherwise.
After the training session, it’s time to jump in and build an app. Design, code and test your way to an awesome creation. Team up or go it alone. Draw upon the myriad of resources available online and in the room from the experts who are there to advise and guide you. At the end of the event, we’ll have a special meeting of the Birmingham .NET User Group, where we’ll cover the basics of Windows 8 app development. Then comes the AppOff, where the individuals or teams who built apps during the day will show off their creation and win prizes from gift cards to Windows 8 tablets!
