Getting Ready for Baby: Marketing the "New Woman's"
Merri Freeman Alessi, Director of Marketing & Communications of Woman's Hospital
It's no wonder the development and relocation of the new Woman's Hospital became such a family affair. Many of us were either born there or delivered our own children there...or both! So it was exciting to see the sign in front of the new campus count down the days until its "due date" of August 5th, and we took pleasure in receiving those postcards in the mail that cleverly outlined the features and highlights of the new state-of-the-art facility. Now that "baby" has arrived, let's hear from the person behind those creative and engaging marketing and PR campaigns!
Merri Freeman Alessi has served as the Director of Marketing, Communications and Physician Relations at Woman’s Hospital since 2009. She is responsible for growing the image of Woman’s as the leader in women's healthcare through strategic planning, advertising, public and media relations, and physician relations. During her tenure at Woman’s, she has been instrumental in refreshing the Woman’s brand, launching a newly designed website, adding physician relations, implementing non-obstetric service line advertising, adding an internal video production team, and launching “My Woman’s", the hospital’s on-demand cable television network.
In 2011, Merri was named a “Marketer of the Year" by the Sales & Marketing Executives of Greater Baton Rouge. Prior to Woman’s, she served as a Marketing Manager at Ochsner Health System for 18 years. Merri received her degree in Speech Communications and Broadcasting at LSU.
**Please confirm your attendance by 5pm on Monday, October 15th.**
Lunch will be served buffet style with two entrees to choose from as well as a salad, side and dessert.
