Join us on Wednesday, March 27 as we celebrate the grand opening of a Primary Care Respiratory Clinic at Wilmington Health Center! The state-of-the-art clinic will provide diagnosis and treatment of common respiratory diseases like asthma, emphysema, and COPD. A Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony will be led by Congresswoman Janice Hahn (D-CA44) and other community leaders.
WHC received a $200,000 healthcare grant from HCBF towards the renovation of an X-Ray and storage room, filled with obsolete equipment, into a modern nursing station with two patient rooms. An additional $193,000 from Los Angeles County went towards ADA improvements, including accessible restrooms, fountains, and an entrance ramp. The combined investment will provide Wilmington residents with one of the few dedicated clinics for respiratory treatment in the area.
A Community Health Fair will feature close to fifty (50) exhibitors, including St. Mary's Mobile Care Clinic with free respiratory screenings. Participants can also take part in free screenings for diabetes, blood pressure, dental, and spinal. The fair will include live music, good food, and resources for the whole family!
