Saturday, August 24, 2013 from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM (EDT)
Wall Township, NJ
In an effort to show our appreciation for the daily sacrifices of first responders, this free program is brought to you by the Young Lawyers Division of the New Jersey State Bar Association and the Wills for Heroes Foundation for this special Monmouth County event. The program offers free Wills to New Jersey’s first responders and their spouses/partner. The program will be held on Saturday, August 24th, at the NJ Natural Gas Building, 1415 Wyckoff Road, Suite 108, Wall Township, NJ, 07719.
Wills for Heroes is a free and easy service that provides estate planning documents to first responders and their spouses or partners.
If you die without a Will, New Jersey’s laws of descent and distribution will determine who will receive your property. Undoubtedly, your loved ones’ grief will be overwhelming; a clear expression of your intent, desires and wishes may help ease some of this inevitable burden. While nobody likes to think about an untimely death, it is best that you express your wishes through a written document. For your family’s peace of mind, please consider this invaluable opportunity, offered completely free to you and your spouse or partner.
On Saturday, August 24th, at the NJ Natural Gas Building, 1415 Wyckoff Road, Suite 108, Wall Township, NJ, 07719, Young Lawyers Division of the New Jersey State Bar Association and the Wills for Heroes Foundation will be conducting the Wills for Heroes Day for sworn first responder personnel (police, fire, and EMTs) along with their spouse or partner. Starting at 10:00 am and ending at 3:00 pm, volunteer lawyers will be available for appointments. Each appointment will last approximately one hour and at the conclusion of it you will have notarized legal documents. We ask that spouses and partners sign up for back to back appointments and expect to spend up to two hours on site. Please go to http://wallwfh.eventbrite.com/ to schedule an appointment.
** If your estate exceeds approximately $675,000, this service is unavailable to you due to the complexity of your estate and the limited time to complete the legal documents. For determining if your estate is over $675,000, include your cash, personal property, stock and bonds, real estate equity, savings, and cash value of a whole/universal life insurance policy only.
For more information on this program, please review the Wills for Heroes Foundation website at www.willsforheroes.org Prior to your appointment, you must complete the questionnaire that you should have received from the first responder agency host. If you did not receive this questionnaire as an attachment to an email, please email firstname.lastname@example.org. This must be filled out and brought to your scheduled appointment. Your spouse or partner must fill out and complete a separate questionnaire.
PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOU ARE AVAILABLE ON THE WILLS DAY FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT. ATTORNEYS ARE VOLUNTEERING THEIR TIME FOR THIS PROGRAM. NO-SHOWS ARE STRONGLY DISCOURAGED!
