Event Details

The Public Policy Department at William Jessup University is pleased to present its 8th annual Public Policy Lecture Series, May 7-9, 2013, 1:30-6:30pm in the Bernadoni Lecture Hall. Each year the Public Policy Lecture Series highlights a range of policy topics and presenters. This year's event will be co-sponsored by Trinity Law School and will feature keynote presentations from R. Scott Owens, Placer County District Attorney (May 7); Ying Ma, Heartland Institute Policy Advisor and Author of Chinese Girl in the Ghetto (May 8); and Brad Dacus, President of the Pacific Justice Institute (May 9).

The Public Policy Lecture Series will also feature our senior students' capstone research project presentations on critical contemporary policy issues (see a full schedule below).  This year's program also will include a debate "Is Freedom Really Free?" presented by the WJU Debate Club on May 8.

During each evening of the Lecture Series, the Public Policy Department will recognize the tremendous support and impact made by those who have established a number of significant scholarships for our Department. Join us as we honor representatives from the Matt Redding Memorial Scholarship (May7), Leland McPherson Memorial Scholarship (May 8) and our newly endowed Gaddis-Tucker Scholarship (May 9).

The Public Policy Lecture series is a wonderful opportunity to connect students, faculty, professionals, and the community in thinking deeply and Biblically about policy issues. The event is free and open to the public. For more information email publicpolicy@jessup.edu or visit www.jessup.edu/publicpolicy.
