February 11th: Dr. Faustus

March 11th: Henry VI Parts 1-3

April 8th: Love's Labours Lost

May 13th: Pericles

Summer break

September 9th: Cymbeline

October 14th: Two Gentlemen of Verona

November 11th: Henry VIII

December 9th: Timon of Athens


Each session will begin with a brief lecture-style presentation on a different Shakespeare play covering plot, themes, poetic and dramatic devices, cultural context, performance history, etc. Then the group will read a scene (or two) out loud, followed by a viewing of a movie version of the scene(s) and a guided discussion. If time allows, more scenes may be read, viewed, and discussed.
