The Mission of the Office of Emergency Services (OES) is to coordinate the unified and efficient use of City resources, outside agencies (mutual aid), and community resources to prevent, to prepare for, to respond to, and to recover from all hazards.
This August the OES would like to invite AND pay for 18 ESVs to train in Wilderness First Aid! You MUST be present both days to receive certification.
This is a 16-hour course based on the Boy Scouts of America Wilderness & First Aid Curriculum & Doctrine Guidelines. It includes content to meet OSHA's Best Practices for the Workplace First Aid Training Programs-particularly important for federally regulated environments.
The course is from 9:00am to 5:00pm on Saturday and repeats from 9:00am to 5:00pm on Sunday. Major portions of the course are designed to be taught in an outdoor setting. Participants must be at least 14 years of age and possess current certification in adult CPR/AED. INTENDED AUDIENCE: MRC Members but encouraged for all ESVs. We reserve the right to cancel the course if there are not enough sign ups.
Should you have any questions regarding this event please contact Mr. Nathaniel Rainey, Office Of Emergency Services Coordinator, at Nathaniel.Rainey@CityofPaloAlto.org.
We are most appreciative of your support and commitment to the program and look forward to working with you!
