Share Wilderness First Aid for Mountain Bikers 2014

Event Details

8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Join the SoCal High School Mountain Bike League and Emergency Medical Services and Beyond (EMSB) for an innovative Wilderness First Aid training created for mountain bike coaches and ride leaders. This 16-hour training is designed to prepare mountain bike coaches, and anyone who rides bicycles in the wilderness, to confidently and effectively respond to injuries and illness that can occur while riding. The training will focus on staying calm, making good decisions, and relevant hands-on practice, including scenarios specifically designed for mountain bike coaches. Upon completion, each participant will receive a Wilderness First Aid-Mountain Bike (WFA-MTB) Certification good for 3 years. Certification is through the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. CPR Saturday at 6:00 PM This optional class allows you to complete all of your medical aid requirements in one weekend.

Certification Requirements for League Coaches

For 2015, NICA requires WFA-MTB certification for Head and Assistant Coaches. WFA-MTB certification is recommended for Ride Leaders, but not required. For more information on Coaches Licensing, please go to the NICA Coaches Licensing page.


Registration is $160 per person (includes 16 hour WFA training, continental breakfast and lunch each day). CPR training Saturday evening from 6:00-10:00 PM costs an additional $30. Discount of 10% is available if you register before September 30th and enter code WFA14 at checkout.
