Cascade Springs Nature Preserve is a 130-arce urban forest is located in southwest Atlanta. It features beautiful hiking trails and two historic natural springs, which form cascading waterfalls. The nature preserve is also a place of history. This land was the site of the Battle of Utoy Creek, one the critical struggles of the Battle of Atlanta.
This hike is rated moderate to strenuous (ages 7 and up). The trails throughout the springs are hilly. Please bring a camera, insect repellant, refillable water bottle, a snack and/or picnic lunch. Trekking poles or walking stick and sturdy shoes/boots are recommended.
Cascade Springs Nature Preserve entrance is located a few feet from a bus stop. Please consider using public transportation - MARTA 404-848-5000.

Keeping it Wild was created in 2005 by several Atlanta citizen-advocates who perceived the need to bring together members of diverse conservation communities in order to promote better stewardship for the natural lands in our area. We promote the enjoyment of the outdoors by overcoming barriers and providing opportunities for people from diverse backgrounds, interests and experience levels to explore our natural environment in new and exciting ways. We connect diverse individuals and families to the land and each other by encouraging hands-on experiences through hikes, outings, educational opportunities and community-building partnerships.
