WOMEN IN FILM presents

LILLAH MCCARTHY

Senior Vice President of TNT and TBS Original Programming

Lillah McCarthy serves as senior vice president of TNT and TBS Original Programming, overseeing the in-house production arm for the two networks. She is based in Los Angeles and reports to Michael Wright, president, head of programming for TBS, TNT and Turner Classic Movies (TCM).

Since she began working with the Turner networks in 2003, McCarthy has been instrumental in the development of all original series for both networks including current hits like TNT's Rizzoli & Isles, Falling Skies, Major Crimes and Perception, as well as this summer's new series The Last Ship, Legends and Murder in The First. She has also overseen development on the current TBS series Sullivan & Son. Her past successes include TNT's Emmy®-winning The Closer, one of the most popular cable series of all time; the Peabody Award-winning Men of a Certain Age; and the acclaimed hits Leverage and Saving Grace. Past work for TBS includes My Boys and Men at Work.

McCarthy was named vice president of series programming in 2006 and was promoted to senior vice president of original programming in 2008. As a result of the networks’ continued expansion and desire to own more of its original programming, McCarthy was named to head up TNT and TBS’s in-house original production division in 2013. The Last Ship, Legends and Murder in the First are the first two series to come out of that newly formed division. Upcoming series include Edward Burns' Public Morals and Proof, starring Jennifer Beals, along with TBS's new sitcom Angie Tribeca (working title).

McCarthy has also directed half-hour multi-camera television comedies, run her own literary and talent management company and served as executive vice president for Kopelson Productions, where she supervised television development for the company. LEARN MORE.
