Our second DistilledLive event of the year is set to take place in just over two weeks’ time – Wednesday 20th February at the Minster Exchange.
Our very own Tom Anthony will be joined by Matt Beswick (Hidden Pixel) and Marcus Taylor (Venture Harbour) to discuss the latest link building tactics ahead of our LinkLove conference just three weeks later.
The evening will kick off at 6:30pm with drinks, nibbles and networking, followed by the three presenters sharing their awesome link building tips and tricks;
First up, Matt will be talking to us about Intelligent Outsourcing. He will be discussing how to get ahead in search by building solid relationships that will help you to create amazing content and, more importantly, how to do so with a relatively small increase in time and effort.
Next up, we have Marcus who will be revealing how he got EMI, P Diddy and Guy Kawasaki to share his blog posts. In his talk Marcus shares a concept that he has used for years to provoke large companies and celebrities to promote his campaigns and generate large volumes of high quality links.
Tom Anthony will wrap up the presentations with his talk on ‘Why I Hate Link Builders’. Tom will talk about why he increasingly hates link building, and its role in SEO. The history of SEO has been a cat and mouse game between the engines and the SEOs, and Tom will discuss how this has lead to Google devaluing 'real value' links as collateral damage whilst attempting to prevent the ongoing manipulation by SEOs. Is this game never-ending, or will we reach a point where eventually its costs as much to 'cheat' as it does to be valuable? How would that look, and what can we do to aim at that point now, such that our links might increase in value as Google gets smarter?
Look forward to seeing you there!
