In this talk, Solar System Ambassador and Lockheed Martin Propulsion Engineer Adam Pender will discuss the variety of benefits of a strong space program, including technological advancements which enable our current way of life, science discoveries leading to a greater understanding of our place in the universe, and “big picture” rationale for a strong national and global space effort. Presentation will be followed by what is sure to be a lively Q&A session.

Jefferson County Open Space was founded as a land conservation organization in 1972. Its mission is to preserve land, protect park and natural resources, as well as provide healthy nature-based experiences. Funded with a one-half of one percent sales tax, the agency contributes to city and recreation district projects and manages 44,613 acres, 28 regional parks, and 230 miles of trails in Jefferson County, Colorado.
