Wholly Hell 15k Trail Race
Saturday, June 8, 2013 at 10:00 AM (CDT)
Everyone does races in the spring and the fall when the weather is cool and the running is easy. Challenge yourself by running 15k on the beautiful trails of Paw Paw Woods at the beginning of summer. Sure, it will be hot, but isn’t that the point of doing a race in the summer? Believe us: it will be wholly hell.
The course will take you on the trails of Swallow Cliff Woods, over rocks, roots, and various other natural obstacles. It is a great course for new trail runners, but also challenging enough for even the most gnarly, seasoned trail runner.
All runners will receive a race t-shirt, a customized bib (must register by May 24, 2013 to receive a customized bib), and a finisher’s medal. Following the race there will be snacks (pretzels and naners), free soft drinks, and a free Chicago-style hot dog bar with enough celery salt and pickles to restore your depleted electrolyte levels (non-Chicagoans, please leave your ketchup at home). We will also have locally crafted beer available for purchase.
The race will begin at 10am on Saturday, June 8, 2013.
Price schedule is as follows:
$38 until May 1
$40 from May 2 to May 24
$45 from May 25 until race day
All finishers will have this race counted towards both the “Popes of Avignon” and the “Plenary Indulgence” challenges.
When & Where
We love people. We love Chicago. We love trail running. And we love good beer. We thought it would be a good idea to combine them all. Why not, right?
Our goal is to provide Chicagoland with the best possible trail running experience. From the course design to the staff at the aid stations to the beer served at the after party, our #1 goal is for you to have the best time possible.
We are partnering with local small businesses in the Chicagoland area to start a series of trail races beginning in the fall of 2012.
Hope to see you on the trail soon!
