Calling all Portlanders to join Whole Foods Market Laurelhurst and Growing Gardens for a fun Fall community volunteer project at the Earl Boyles Elementary School. Kids, families, team members and local vendors are invited to make a difference in our community by helping us improve and renovate the school's garden. The school recently earned a garden grant award from Whole Kids Foundation, a non profit organization, focused on improving children's nutrition and wellness. The foundation was created by Whole Foods Market in 2009.
This will be a family-friendly, 2-hour project with tasks for everyone from ages 2 and up! Tasks include: Planting, laying down a gravel path, beautification of the space, and potentially some building projects (a root view box, signage, etc.). There will also be a Ring Toss game on-site for little ones.
This is an opportunity for customers, team members and kids to partner together in service to our community, and also make new friends.
Additionally we'll have a build your own salad bar for everyone to enjoy after our work is complete. Join us in modeling the fun of "eating a rainbow" in honor of the Whole Kids Foundation
Thank you again and we look forward to seeing you soon!
