Event Details

Looking for current or old news?  Sure, you can use the "free" web to find newspapers, but you can also use some of the terrific news search engines at UNC Libraries. The Libraries' search engines (also called "databases") are a bit more reliable, stable, and free-to-you.

Want to learn more? In this session, we will introduce you these fabulous resources:

  • America's Newspapers (over 900 US newspapers)
  • Historic Newspapers (Full-text & images of 7 newspapers, including The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, LA Times, and more, from the first issue published to mid-1980s - includes ads! photos! page layouts!)
  • AP Photo Archive (photos from the Associated Press, 1800s-now)

Of course, you can come to the library & browse our newsprint copies of several North Carolina newspapers.
