Building on the success of its autumn event, Art on Harrison, the Oak Park Arts District launched “What’s Blooming on Harrison” in 1999. Over the years, this family-oriented May event has highlighted the District through artist demonstrations, live music, dance performances and an art fair featuring selected guest artists and local crafts people. This year’s two-day festival will be held on Friday, May 16th within the galleries, shops and restaurants of The Oak Park Arts District beginning at 6:00pm. On Saturday, May 17th, “What’s Blooming” moves outside taking over Harrison Street with the art fair and other Family Fun Activities. The festival runs from 10:00am – 8:00pm with the art fair ending at 7:00pm.
