Dr. Diana Hendel is CEO of Long Beach Memorial, Community Hospital Long Beach and Miller Children’s Hospital Long Beach. Serving more than 20 years in the MemorialCare Health System, Dr. Hendel was named CEO of the Long Beach hospitals in 2009, previously serving as the COO. She held several administrative posts within the health system, including administrator of Saddleback Memorial Medical Center San Clemente campus and MemorialCare Executive Director of Physician Integration and Strategy.
Diana holds a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from University of California San Francisco, where she served as assistant clinical professor of pharmacy practice; a bachelor’s in biological sciences from University of California Irvine, where she currently serves on the Dean’s Leadership Council; and is the 2012-2013 Leader-in-Residence of the Ukleja Center for Ethical Leadership at CSULB. She serves on many boards, including Hospital Association of Southern California, California Children’s Hospital Association, Long Beach Area Chamber of Commerce, California Council on Equality and Justice, Southern California Leadership Council, Long Beach Police Foundation Advisory Board and others. She has been honored with many awards, including the Los Angeles Business Journal Women Making a Difference CEO Award, and the Press Telegram Amazing Woman of the Year in Health Care Award.
