Arts and cultural organizations in Charlotte are struggling financially in the wake of the recession and cutbacks in community funding and donations. Many agencies have had to cut costs and services… and say they have little or no ‘cash reserves’ to sustain them through any future financial droughts. A Cultural Life Task Force is looking for ways to strengthen support for Charlotte’s cultural sector.

WFAE's Public Conversation Series explores the financial challenges faced by Charlotte’s arts and cultural groups, how they hope to build a stronger future, and what’s at stake for the community. "Charlotte's Arts & Culture Groups: How Can They Survive... and Thrive?" is Tues., Nov. 12, 7-8:30 p.m., at Spirit Square's Duke Energy Theater - LOCATION CHANGE from McGlohon Theater at Spirit Square.
