Event Details

The Washington DC VA Medical Center is hosting its seventh annual Welcome Home Celebration  at the Nationals Park Red Event Tent on September 14 from 4:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.  Welcome Home provides a venue for OEF/OIF/OND Veterans to enroll for VA health care, access information about VA benefits and learn about employment and entrepreneurship opportunities and other community resources.  

 

OEF/OIF/OND Veterans who are enrolled for health care at the Washington DC VA Medical Center and are able to attend the Welcome Home event will receive up to two (2) tickets per family to the enjoy the Nationals versus Phillies baseball game.  The tickets are available on a first come, first serve basis.  BY POPULAR DEMAND - REGISTRATION EXTENDED TO 6:00 p.m., FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 13th!!  All Veterans who reserve tickets via Eventbrite must come to the Red Event Tent beginning at 4:30 p.m. with proof of Veteran status such as a DD214 showing Honorable Discharge or a Veterans Affairs identification card.

Metro is the quickest and easiest way to Nationals Park.

It's the way to go to the ballgame. Take the Green Line to the Navy Yard station. The Navy Yard station is just a half a block away and will accommodate 24,000 passengers an hour. Plus, Metro has over 57,000 parking spaces at their Park and Ride lots.

Transferring to the Green Line is easy.  There are three main transfer stations to the Green Line; Gallery Place/Chinatown, L'Enfant Plaza or Fort Totten

Metro is fully ADA accessible at the Navy Yard station. The Navy Yard West Entrance located on the SE corner of M & Half Streets, SE, as well as the Navy Yard East Entrance, located on the NW corner of M Street at New Jersey Avenue, SE, are both ADA accessible.

DC Circulator Service                                                                                                                                               In addition to the Metrobus routes, fans can also access Nationals Park via the DC Circulator bus, which is operated by the D.C. Department of Transportation. The Navy Yard route of the DC Circulator operates every 10 minutes to and from Union Station (garage - tour bus level) and the Navy Yard. Nationals Parking                                                                                                                                                 If you drive to Nationals Park... there are a variety of options for you to choose from at various price levels.  The lots and garages are managed by parking professionals and make getting to and from the ballpark a hassle-free experience.
