Welcome Back Picnic 

When: Saturday, August 23rd 2014

Time: 11:00am-2:00pm

Location: Prospect Park Lawn Meadow NORTH

Look for the A Better Chance banner

We will provide hamburgers and hotdogs.

However, we need you to bring a dish or dessert!

The Long Meadow is accessible from almost anywhere in the Park, with main entrances at Grand Army Plaza, Bartel-Pritchard Circle (intersection of Prospect Park West and Prospect Park Southwest near 15th Street), 3th Street/Prospect Park West, and 9th Street/Prospect Park West.

By Public Transportation: MTA Maps
• F or G Train to 15th Street-Prospect Park or 7th Avenue station
• 2 or 3 Train to Grand Army Plaza station
• Q or B Train to 7th Avenue station
• B41 Bus along Flatbush Avenue to Grand Army Plaza
• B69 Bus to Grand Army Plaza

• B61 Bus along 9th Street to 9th Street/Prospect Park West


By Car:
From Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridges: Take Flatbush Avenue to Grand Army Plaza, then Prospect Park West exit to 9th Street.


From Brooklyn-Queens Expressway: Take BQE to 38th Street exit. Make left on 4th Ave, then right on 9th Street to Prospect Park West.

A Better Chance

Since our founding in 1963, A Better Chance has been opening doors to greater educational opportunities. As a national non-profit organization, our mission is to increase substantially the number of well-educated students of color capable of assuming positions of responsibility and leadership in American society.

A Better Chance places students of color entering grades 6 through 11 into some of the nation's finest college preparatory schools. They include independent day schools, boarding schools, and select top-performing public schools.
