Spring Foraging Extravaganza -- wild mushroom and wild plant class, talk, foray and tasting
March 16 and 17, Gualala, CA 11:00 am - 7:00 pm Saturday, 9:00 am until 1:00 pm on Sunday
Join renowned mushroom book author David Arora and wild foods author Kevin Feinstein for a weekend foraging tour and tasting. In the magical northern Sonoma county coastal forests and open space, the rains offer an abundance of delicious wild foods. The group will spend part of the event foraging for mushrooms with David, and the rest on a wild food walk with Kevin. On Saturday, you'll return to a rustic home in the woods for cooking and tasting the bounty of the day. The group could expect to find things like black trumpets, yellow foot mushrooms, hedgehogs, stinging nettles, doug fir tips, and various wild greens and herbs. Kevin will also supplement the tasting with wild ingredients stored from the fall harvests (such as roasted bay nuts.) A casual talk and Q & A session with David and Kevin will be held during the tasting early Saturday Evening.
Cost: $250 per person
Note: Meals and accommodations are not included but limited on-site camping is available. There might also be an optional potluck to be combined with the tasting on Saturday.
If a refund is requested before 72 hours, we can grant it, minus a 25% cancellation fee. After 72 hours before the event, no refund can be issued.
