The fantastic kingdom of Wonderland first sprang from Lewis Carroll’s mind while babysitting three young girls on an afternoon boat ride.
This May, NOMA and The NOLA Project invite you to step into Wonderland as you chase its eccentric characters around NOMA’s Sydney and Walda Besthoff Sculpture Garden, or simply take a seat at the maddest tea party in town. The NOLA Project, the theatre company that has brought Shakespeare to life in the garden for the last few years, will divide the audience in thirds, taking each group on a stupendously smart and silly adventure through Wonderland. NOLA Project playwright Pete McElligott and director Andrew Larimer (A Midsummer Night’s Dream) have created a promenade production unlike anything ever experienced in New Orleans. No two visits to Wonderland will be the same! Adventures in Wonderland will run May 7-25 in the Besthoff Sculpture Garden at NOMA.
Tickets also avaible at the Admissions Desk in the museum Tuesday through Sunday during regular hours. If available tickets will be sold at the gate each evening starting at 6:00 p.m. No phone orders.

The Red Queen’s Walking Track: In this medium-paced journey through Wonderland, travel with Esther, the eldest sister, and the brave but absent-minded White Knight as they incite a revolution in Wonderland! NOTE: This track is a walking track in which audiences will be led throughout the garden at a medium pace. No chairs or blankets allowed. We encourage you to wear RED!
The Cheshire Cat’s Fast Track: Better be quick on your feet as you follow Alice and her sly guide the Cheshire Cat through the upside-down world of Wonderland. This track moves somewhat quickly as Alice is sent from place to place searching for the culprit who stole the Red Queen's tarts! NOTE: This track is a walking track in which audiences will be led throughout the garden at a quick pace. No chairs or blankets allowed. We encourage you to wear BLUE!
The Mad Hatter’s Sit-Down Tea Party: Come join us for an utterly silly tea party! Carl, the youngest but boldest of the three sisters stumbles upon a Mad Hatter and March Hare in search of a third to complete their party. The three manage to tell Lewis Carroll's entire story in a hilarious and fractured fashion all their own. NOTE: This track takes place in one location in the Pine Grove. Chairs and blankets are welcome for this track only. We encourage you to wear GREEN!
