FAQs

Who should take this course?

Web Dev 101 is perfect for anyone who has either no understanding of coding, or just a basic understanding of HTML/CSS. In this course, you’ll master the fundamentals of programming, learn how to build and launch a website, and gain the skills you need to keep learning.

What is a Team Treehouse silver membership?

A silver membership to Team Treehouse gives you access to over 650+ videos and online tools that will help you learn to code with just a browser—no extra software needed.

In Web Dev 101, you'll focus on the "Learn HTML and CSS" Learning Adventure which covers HTML, CSS, Accessibility on the Web, and Responsive Design.

Why do I need in-person time at Coloft Academy if I have Team Treehouse?

At Coloft Academy, we teach, inspire and motivate. Life can be distracting, and Coloft Academy is here to help keep you on track, and maximize your learning so you can achieve your goals!

PLUS, you'll see how your peers progress through their learning adventure, and have an expert instructor to help remove roadblocks. You'll also recieve unique code challenges that build on the Team Treehouse online curriculum.

Why do we meet twice a week?

Meeting twice a week gives us the proper time to check in with you, answer questions, and remove roadblocks. We'll also teach you how to teach yourself more efficiently by sharing resources and tools, and tackle unique coding challenges that will get you thinking like a web developer.

What if I can't finish the "Learn HTML and CSS" Learning Adventure during the course?

The in-person classes at Coloft Academy should provide more than enough time to finish the HTML/CSS learning adventure—even if you can't spend time on the lessons outside of class.

However, you get a full-year membership to Team Treehouse through this course which means you can review HTML/CSS at anytime—and move onto Javascript, Databases, or Ruby on Rails as soon as you're comfortable with the basics.
