The Trials and Tribulations of the Body of Abraham Lincoln
- Community & Culture
The Filson Historical Society and the Kentucky Opera present We Sing America, a musical program that focuses on Kentucky’s influence in American history through geography, history and music. This traveling program features a variety of musical numbers, from folk songs such as Barbara Allen and Yankee Doodle to old favorites like Star Spangled Banner, Battle Hymn of the Republic, and Dixie, bringing the old world to the new. The music brings to life the themes that it covers: building a new nation, America at War, the working man, the American west, and the Great Depression.
We Sing America travels to area schools. The Filson Historical Society will be providing each class with a packet of materials relating to the music performed.
