President Obama will be making a photo-op stop in Cushing, Oklahoma on Thursday, March 22 at 9:30 a.m. Interestingly enough this happens to be the "pipeline crossroads of the world" and, as we're sure you remember, the Keystone Pipeline (Keystone XL) would've been a big deal for jobs and businesses in Cushing and here at home in Arkansas, Kansas, and Oklahoma.
Unfortunately for us, though, the pipeline was made into a political game and, as Senator Mark Pryor said recently, probably won't be approved until after the election. The President promised to fight for the middle class, but he stood directly in the way of a project that would create thousands of American jobs.
Now AFP is asking people to join us as we head to Cushing, OK to let the President know how we view his decision on Keystone XL. The details are below. We hope to see you there!
When: Thursday, March 22, 2012
Ride a bus from Kansas or Arkansas or meet us there at Fechner Pump and Supply, 1402 N. Little Street in Cushing, Oklahoma!
Departure Info: We will leave from Lawrence Dumont Stadium, 200 South Sycamore, Wichita.
Boarding begins at 5 AM for a 5:30 AM departure.
Return Info: We will begin boarding at 11 AM for an 11:30 AM departure from the rally location in Cushing. We anticipate arrive back in Wichita at 2:30 PM
More Information: There are 50 seats that we'd like to fill to let President Obama know that Kansas remembers his job killing actions that held up Keystone XL until after this year's election.
Breakfast, Lunch, and t-shirts will be available to those that are able to join us.
