Now in its 20th year, the popular business breakfast series from WCBS Newsradio 880 is coming to Mahwah New Jersey June 4th for a morning on “How to Market Your Small Business”. It’s the WCBS US Postal Service Small Business Breakfast hosted by the Wall Street Journal’s Joe Connolly – the morning business voice on WCBS 880. We’ll present a panel of experts and successful business owners who will give you ideas of new ways to increase sales.
Speakers will include:
Marc W. Halpert is a LinkedIn trainer who fled corporate America, and who now consults large New York companies and nonprofits on ways use LinkedIn. Marc says “ We were all taught not to talk about ourselves. Well, get over it. If you like talking about what you do for a living and the business that you’ve built and the clients you have, then start talking about yourself.” He’ll tell you ways to do it effectively.
Adda Birnir is the CEO and co-founder of Skillcrush. Skillcrush is an interactive community-driven tech-learning platform aimed at increasing digital literacy. Adda isn’t only the CEO, she is an instructor. With her self-taught skills, she’s worked on building sites for the New York Times, ProPublica and MTV. Adda was a recent presenter at the famous New York Tech Meetup. She will share her story of how she transformed her entire business model from a web design business into an online education academy.
Richard Greenwald, executive dean of St. Joseph’s College, and author of the forthcoming book “Permanent Freelancers,” will describe new formats for small businesses being used by business owners in New Jersey specifically that he has studied and written about in The Wall Street Journal. This includes working in teams as a one-stop shop for clients on a rotating basis and new ways of generating leads.
Noelle Stary, founder of New Jersey marketing firm “20 Lemons”. After working alongside some of the most talented and successful business people in NJ, leveraging her knowledge of growing sales, and increases profits for businesses she began 20 Lemons – A Strategic Marketing company.
Over the past few years, she expanded lines of business to include real eastate ventures. These deals have been part of helping smaller businesses to have collaborative environments to work out of the (co)working space. The strategy of partnering with other businesses and working in the same space has allowed her marketing firm to grow and the collective to expand into a 2nd location.
