As the Meadowlands gets ready for the big game in February, the Newark Museum will play host to the original “Vince Lombardi Trophy” the Tiffany-designed trophy awarded each season to the league’s best. On the night of January 16th, WCBS 880 will present a night of Celebrating Champions offering you a chance to a close-up view of the famous trophy, meet-and-greet with former New York Giant greats Ottis Anderson and Sean Landeta plus Green Bay Packer’s Hall of Fame Linebacker Dave Robinson. The New Jersey native played for Vince Lombardi championship teams in 1965, 1966, and 1967. The trophy on display at the museum is the original one given to the 67 Packer team.
Hear what it takes to become a champion as these two sit with WCBS 880 Sports Anchor Gordon Damer for live question-and-answer session. The night will include a chance for autographs from these NFL greats. Attendance is limited to 250.
The Lombardi Trophy from 1967 (photo at left) will be on display from January 8th through March 30th at the Newark Museum as part of their City of Silver and Gold Exhibition.
