The Water Tour 2012 is a collaborative effort between Boulder County Parks and Open Space, Farmers Alliance for Integrated Resources (FAIR), Boulder Valley and Longmont Conservation Districts and local ditch companies. The tour will include the history of water in Boulder County, current uses, challenges, opportunities, ditch systems and lunch at Panama Reservoir. Tour will start at teh Fairgrounds head to Lyons to look at Highland Ditch move south along Hwy 36 learning about the many ditch systems that come down into the plains. There will be a stop in Boulder to see the headgates at 12th and Broadway then moving out into the plains. A fantastic lunch will be provided at Panama Reservoir followed by a stop to see the different irrigation systems used in Boulder County. There will be speakers on the bus as well as at each stop and time for questions and discussion.
Lunch is included in the $5 reservation fee.
