Water Music - West Yorkshire Symphony Orchestra at Bramley Baths I Love West Leeds Festival - Sun 24 July 4pm
Sunday, July 24, 2011 from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM (BST)
Leeds, United Kingdom
PLEASE NOTE TICKETS NOW AVAILABLE ARE FOR THE 6.30PM PERFORMANCE, THE ORIGINAL 4PM PERFORMANCE HAS SOLD OUT.
The I Love West Leeds Festival closing event! A truly unique classical music concert in beautiful victorian splendour of Bramley Baths.
The West Yorkshire Symphony Orchestra have kindly agreed to be stranded on an island stage in the middle of the swimming pool where they will play Handel’s water music as you swim around the stage or lie back and float. For the non swimmers we have the perfect viewing platform from the balcony that surrounds the pool where you can look down on the whole event while indulging in lemonade and cake.
Plus vintage swimwear exhibition by Artemis and photographs by Lizzie Coombes.
Bramley Baths has to be the prettiest place to swim in the city - don’t miss this really special event.
Tickets cost £5 adult swim / £2.50 child swim or £2.50 balcony ticket
PLEASE REMEMBER TO BRING YOUR PRINTOUT WITH YOU
(Sorry about the fiddly deposit system, our capacity in the pool is limited to a strict 40 plus 50 on the balcony and without knowing the adult to child ratio of tickets sold the deposit system is the most flexible way of working).
Tickets are strictly limited in number and for safety reasons we are really sorry but we can't allow any unaccompanied children under 16 in the pool at this event, so if you want your kids to see this you need to dig that swimming cozzie out of the wardrobe.
Huge thanks go to AnythingAudio for donning their speedos to design & build the stage and to West Yorkshire Symphony Orchestra for entering into the festival spirit. And of course to Bramley Baths, a very special venue at the heart of Bramley, while you are there why not pick up a swim timetable or join the gym?
