Warrior Relay is a 6 Person, 8 Hour relay with 5 fitness challenges throughout the day! This is a true test of fitness, teamwork, and endurance. Warrior Relay will be held on the football field at Wittenberg University. Each participant will receive a free event T-shirt at check ins the day of the Warrior Relay. A Beer Garden and food will be available. Get a team of 6 people together, sign up, and have a good time with friends and family! The proceeds benefit Honor Flight Network and Feed Our Heroes Foundation!
The Warrior Relay was created from a need for something new and exciting. We kept hearing people looking for new adventure runs but everything was the same out there. We set out to create an event that combines fitness with a social fun and true teamwork aspect. We also wanted to include a variety of sports in the event. So while there is running/walking; there are also many other aspects of various sports included in the challenges.
What are the Challenges during the day? There is a "Buy - In" team challenge that will start the Warrior Relay. This will consist of basic movements such as sit-up, squats, pushups, and others. Then the 1st challenge will involve Medicine ball tosses over the goal posts in the endzone. The weights will be 14 lb, 20 lbs, and 30 lb. The 2nd challenge is a partner deadlift + Burpee 6:00 AMRAP. The 3rd challenge will be a barbell Ground - To - Overhead ladder (any style acceptable). The 4th challenge is a field combine challenge of long jump and vertical jump. These workouts may be scaled or skipped!
How does the scoring work? 1 point is given for each mile ran by a person on your team. Points are also awarded for coming in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd during the challenges (separated by male and female). 1st = 3pts 2nd = 2pts 3rd = 1pt.
What are the rules to win? Someone from your team must be on the track running/walking at all times. Nobody can run two consecutive miles. During the day you have the option to send someone from your team (asssigned at check in) to a challenge in order to score more points for your team. The team with the most points at the end of the day wins.
Who can participate? Anybody 16 and older may sign up. (if younger than 18 years of age then an adult needs to sign the waiver to particpate).
What if I can't run? Anybody of any fitness level can enter! Anybody can walk or run the relay and the challenges may be skipped( if one can't do them) or they can be scaled to accomodate various fitness levels!

When do I check in after entering my team? Packet pick up and waiver form pick up will happen the morning of the event, August 9th starting at 8 am. Event will kick off at 10 am
What is the policy on beer at the event? Warrior Relay follows Ohio drinking age limit - only persons 21 and older may purchase and consume beer. Please drink responsibly.
Can my friends and family come and watch? Absolutely! We would love to have your friends and family. Not only can they watch but they are permitted on the field to cheer and socialize! There is a donation at the door of $3 for students and $5 for general admission. Admission is free for Military and First Responders.
May we set up a tent? Yes. We encourage teams to bring a tent or pop up canopy type of tent for a team meeting/gathering spot. After your team checks in you may start setting up your team area. You cannot put stakes in the turf.
May I bring Water? Absolutely! In fact we encourage it! this is an 8 hour event so please stay hydrated. There will be a water fountain available to refill bottles.
Can I bring my gym bag or cooler? Gym bags and coolers are permitted but will be searched at the gate for any banned items. ie any alcohol.
Are there Restrooms? Yes. We have the use of the restrooms and locker rooms at the HYPER Center at Wittenberg University which is next to the field.
Can we bring extra shoes and clothes? Yes. Locker rooms are available so you have access to change if needed. Also you may bring any shoes (running, crossfit, oly). Track shoes with Spikes will not be allowed.
What is Honor Flight Network? Honor Flight Network is a national foundation that started in Springfield Ohio. Honor Flight Network receives donations to fly veterans to their own memorials in Washington D.C. These veterans have fought for our freedom and we believe they should see their memorials. These trips for the veterans are completely free including travel, hotel, and busing to get around all memorials. To learn more about Honor Flight Network or to donate directly please visit www.honorflight.org There is also a documentary DVD for sale through the website that truly shows how much a short trip means to these veterans.
What is Feed Our Heroes Foundation? The Feed Our Heroes Foundation is a growing project started in Ohio that receives donations to feed veterans. They have large dinner gatherings on main holidays, but also provides veterans with food if needed through the year. It is a simple concept that literally saves veterans from going hungry. A number of these veterans are wounded but they dont have to be in order to receive help.
When & Where
We are two athletes that created this event out of people coming to us wanting something new and exciting. We created Warrior Relay for the fitness enthusiast/comptetitor and for the everyday person that wants to have fun! Our office is literally a gym and everyday we are surrounded by people that want fitness to be fun and exciting. Thats where we got our inspiration... from people like you!
