In the documentary “Walled In,” the TORCH filmmakers explore the influence Facebook has in the social lives of teens. Known as a people connector, Facebook has also left some feeling “walled in” – limited and distorted.
A survey done in 2013 by Pew Research Center shows that 94% of teens on social media have a Facebook profile. Facebook has over 1 billion users, making it the most heavily used social media site. This documentary is intended to serve as an exhibition of the influence Facebook has had in creating the social profile of teens since it’s start in 2004.

TORCH is dedicated to transforming the lives of underserved New York City public high school students by providing intensive exposure to career training and opportunities in communications and the arts, all while faciliting a meaningful way of increasing the diversity of the workforce in those industries.
