Oakland Zoo’s 24th Annual Walk in the Wild is one of the Bay Area’s premier fundraising events offering guests an enchanting evening of live music, scrumptious dining from the Bay Area’s top chefs and restaurants, an impressive selection of regional beers and wines, and an assortment of delicious desserts.
Main Event (5:00 - 8:00pm)
Wine, Dine & Stroll! More than 100 restaurants, caterers, wineries, and breweries will be onsite showcasing some of the San Francisco Bay Area's finest fare. With each reservation, you will receive a commemorative wine glass and plate to enjoy fabulous drinks and superb culinary cuisine as you stroll through the Zoo.
Dancing and Dessert Under the Stars, Adventure Landing Rides Area (8:00 - 10:00pm)
End your evening on a sweet note as you sample an array of desserts and dance the night away under the stars to the rhythm of the night’s live entertainment.
Q: Can a child or baby attend Walk in the Wild with me?
A: Due to the service of alcohol, no one under the age of 21 may attend Walk in the Wild. This includes children and babies, and no exceptions can be made.
Q: Does Oakland Zoo provide wheelchairs for guests attending Walk in the Wild? Is the Zoo wheelchair accesible?
A: Oakland Zoo does not provide wheelchairs for guests, however the Zoo is entirely wheelchair accessible. Please know that Oakland Zoo is located on a hill, and that visiting all of the vendor booths would require walking both up and down hill.
Q: What kind of attire do guests generally wear at Walk in the Wild?
A: Walk in the Wild is a casual event, and guests generally dress accordingly. Many guests also enjoy dressing in festive animal or zoo related prints.
Q: Is there a discount on admission to the Main Event for current Oakland Zoo Members?
A: Yes. The admission price to the Main Event for the general public is $175 per person. For current Oakland Zoo members, admission price is $150 per person. Please note, you will be required to enter your membership ID# when purchasing your admission tickets.
Q: I notice that there are convenience fees being charge this year, why is that?
A: Walk in the Wild is the Zoo’s largest fundraiser. This year, the Zoo upgraded our reservation system and as a result, all transaction fees appear as a separate line item to show the true cost for each reservation. You can avoid online processing fees ($8-18 per ticket) until May 31, 2016 by purchasing through our business office Monday-Friday 9:00am-4:00pm.
