Join Casey Trees and the Michigan Park Citizens Association as we add 40 trees to the grounds of the beautiful St. Joseph’s Seminary in Ward 5. The Seminary was founded to serve the African American community and has stood on this spot since the 1920s when the surrounding areas were farm and pasture land.
The parking lot at the Seminary will be available to volunteers. Once this lot fills there is plenty of street parking in the surrounding neighborhood. The CUA/Brookland Station is a 1 mile walk and the 80 Metrobus line services this neighborhood.
Volunteers are welcomed in the morning with a light breakfast. A celebratory lunch is provided at the conclusion of the event. Casey Trees will supply drinking water throughout the event.
Are you a volunteer group manager? Do you want to register a large group of volunteers for one or more events (5 or more individuals)? Groups cannot sign up all of their registrants on this page, but we are happy to work with you to get volunteers registered at this event or other events this season. Register online now.
