Event Details

Casey Trees and the Rosedale Citizens Association will be adding fruit and shade trees to this alley way community garden, as well as several surrounding homes in Ward 7. The Rosedale Community Garden was founded in 2005 and expanded in 2008 to serve the residents of Kingman Park and Rosedale neighbors.

Getting There

Registration will be held in the community garden, which is in an alley way and can be difficult to find. Look for the Casey Trees events signs on the corner of Rosedale Street and E Street NE to guide you back to the site. Street parking is available. The Stadium Armory Metro Station (Blue/Orange Line) is a 0.8 mile walk and the D6, X1, X2, and X3 Metrobus lines all stop nearby.

Requirements

  • All volunteers must sign a completed volunteer waiver form before participating. Children under 18 years of age must have their parent or legal guardian sign a consent form and be supervised by an adult at all times. Waivers will be provided but to ease the registration process it is helpful to bring a completed copy to the event.
  • No specific skills required. Each event starts with a tool safety and care demonstration.
  • Register in advance. Space is limited. If your plans change prior to the event, please update your registration status so we are sure to have the necessary number of volunteers.
  • Arrive on time. Check-in opens a half hour prior to the indicated start time and volunteers must be present for the tool safety demonstration at the start of the event.
  • Dress comfortably and appropriately for the weather. Closed toe shoes are required.

Meals

Volunteers are welcomed in the morning with a light breakfast. A celebratory lunch is provided at the conclusion of the event. Casey Trees will supply drinking water throughout the event.

Group Registration

Are you a volunteer group manager? Do you want to register a large group of volunteers for one or more events (5 or more individuals)? Groups cannot sign up all of their registrants on this page, but we are happy to work with you to get volunteers registered at this event or other events this season. Register online now.
