Volunteer Registration for the Husky Howl (Guinness World Record Attempt)
Friday, April 26, 2013 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM (PDT)
We are currently seeking volunteers to help with several activities during our record attempt on April 26th.
Volunteers will be required to check in at the event between 6:45 p.m. and 7:15 p.m.; however, volunteers are encouraged to show up at 6:15 p.m. to attend a 30 minute pre-event meeting. Students/participants will start arriving at 7:30 p.m, and the howl will take place at 8:30 p.m. After the event, volunteers should be able to leave around 9 p.m.
Volunteers will receive an email with more detailed information when they sign up.
Volunteer Job Title: Official Witness
Responsibilities (specific details of volunteer duties): The role of an independent witness is to oversee the attempt as a whole and confirm the final total after having observed the entire process. Witnesses will receive a document with specific guidelines for the record attempt and will be responsible for making sure that the department follows these guidelines. They will be responsible for overseeing the ticketed counting process and verifying all numbers. At the conclusion of the event, witnesses will fill out a sheet with this information. Witnesses must be willing to give their name, profession, address, and phone number to Guinness and may be contacted for verification purposes.
Volunteer Job Title: Steward
Responsibilities (specific details of volunteer duties): Each steward will be assigned to a group of 50 people on the night of the event. They will be responsible for counting their group and watching these individuals during the record event to ensure that they participate fully as stated in the guidelines. Stewards must be willing to give their name, profession, address, and phone number to Guinness and may be contacted for verification purposes.
Volunteer Job Title: Entrance Volunteer
Responsibilities (specific details of volunteer duties): These volunteers will be placed at the entrance of the attempt and may be responsible for scanning tickets, handing out wristbands, operating "clicker" counters, or operating a video camera.
Volunteer Job Title: Exit Volunteer
These volunteers will be placed at the exit of the attempt and may be responsible for counting participants who leave, cutting off wristbands, or operating a video camera.
