Volunteer: Petworth Neighborhood
Saturday, March 15, 2014 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM (EDT)
Join Casey Trees as we beautify and add some much needed shade trees to the historic Petworth neighborhood. Adding to the trees planted last fall alongside students from nearly E.L. Haynes, this planting will help replace several mature trees along the surrounding streets that were removed due to recent construction.
After we are done planting, head on over to the Petworth Citizen for a Happy Hour just for Petworth volunteers! The Petworth Citizen, who is also generously donating a portion of the celebratory lunch, is located at 829 Upshur Street and is only two blocks from the planting!
Registration will be located at the corner of 7th and Webster St NW. There is plenty of unrestricted street parking in the neighborhood. The Georgia Ave/Petworth Metro Station (Green/Yellow Line) is 0.6 miles away and the 60, 62, 63 and 64 Metrobus lines all stop nearby.
Volunteers are welcomed in the morning with a light breakfast. A celebratory lunch is provided at the conclusion of the event. Casey Trees will supply drinking water throughout the event.
Are you a volunteer group manager? Do you want to register a large group of volunteers for one or more events (5 or more individuals)? Groups cannot sign up all of their registrants on this page, but we are happy to work with you to get volunteers registered at this event or other events this season. Register online now.
