Volunteer Orientation & Training

Find out if the Red Cross is for you!
Please join us for an Orientation to the volunteer opportunities/positions available at the Red Cross followed by the first class required of all new volunteers and employees (Disaster Services: An Overview).
Each Orientation/Training session is a fast-moving 4 hours in length (approx). The first 30 or so minutes briefs you on the requirements and attitudes required of an American Red Cross volunteers. If at that point you think you've found your niche, you can then stay for the training session with an explanation on how to complete the online application.
If we don't have what you are looking for, are not required to stay for the training session.
Schedule (subject to adjustment):
12:30pm - Introduction & Managing Expectations
12:45pm - An overview of our Volunteer Opportunities
12:50pm - How to complete the online application
1:00pm - Decision Making & Break (This is where those that are interested and want to move forward can stay for the training and those that don't find what they want, can exit)
1:30pm - 5:30pm- Disaster Services: An Overview - This EXCITING class is the first class required of all new volunteers
