Volunteer for MAGNITUDE 2016

Celebrating its 20th Anniversary, Magnitude™ is the Official Saturday Night Dance Event of Folsom Street Fair® weekend. It’s part dance party, part sexy, sordid affair – and it’s just loads of fun. The Music, The Lights, The Demos, and The Men are sure to get your motor running. In fact, this party is an essential part of one of the best American fetish weekends.

Since Folsom Street Events first began, the organization has donated nearly $6 million to San Francisco-based and national charities. Volunteers who give their time to help our events run smoothly are the biggest reason that we are able to give away as much as we do. By donating their time on behalf of one of our Major or Supporting Beneficiaries, volunteers for our events help our Beneficiaries be successful, and therefore earn grants which fund specific and inspiring projects in the areas of The Arts, Health and Human Services, and Social Justice.

When you register for a volunteer shift, you will be asked to select one of our Beneficiaries who will who will receive credit for your hours. Our events are largely volunteer-run to ensure that we keep overhead costs as low as possible. This way, we can donate the majority of the money back to our Beneficiaries. Each volunteer shift is incredibly important in making our events run smoothly and safely.

Each volunteer is required to review the online training materials in order to prepare for the Party. Additionally, ALL COAT CHECK volunteers are required to attend an IN-PERSON TRAINING on Saturday, September 24, at 11:00am at the Midway (the venue). If you have worked Coat Check at Bay of Pigs or Magnitude in the past, you are exempt from this requirement. You will receive further instructions around training after you register for a shift.
