Spilling The Honey Project
The idea for Spilling The Honey Project was inspired by the moving story of Eliezer “Eli” Ayalon, a Holocaust survivor who has encouraged thousands through his service at Yad Vashem, the Holocaust memorial in Israel. During the Holocaust, Eli’s mother gave him a cup of honey that he cherished as an inspiration of hope. Elie’s story represents the triumph of the human spirit; to not only survive overwhelming tragedy, but to thrive by giving to others. Like that cup of honey, the I Have A Dream speech has stood as a symbol of hope to the world.
Fifty years later, the Spilling the Honey Project has planned to commemorate that historic moment by honoring leaders in our local and national community who have demonstrated their commitment to building a better society.
