One purpose, two people, hundreds of kids!
Paddle, run, and climb in teams of two to the finish line! This event is a fundraiser to send students on course with Voyageur Outward Bound School. Our goal is to engage fifty teams to help us raise up to $50,000 to help more youth experience Outward Bound. Participants must be 18 or above.
8 a.m.: Team Check-In
9 a.m: Event Start
12:30 p.m.: Lunch at Boy Scouts Basecamp (spectators also welcome!)
Each team will:
- Canoe 5 miles from Hidden Falls to Pike Island, at the confluence of the Mississippi and Minnesota Rivers;
- Run 4 ½ miles around Pike Island and up to the Boy Scouts Basecamp;
- Race to the top of the Basecamp climbing wall (one or both team members can climb).
The event concludes with a picnic lunch at Boy Scouts Basecamp for all VOBS alumni and friends, as well as awards for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd fundraising teams. Teams who raise $500 or more will each receive a performance-grade FINISHER t-shirt.
In order to race, teams of two must achieve their committed fundraising goal. Teams may choose one of three fundraising goals:
Voyageur: $500 team fundraising commitment
Expeditioner: $750 team fundraising commitment
Navigator: $1,000 team fundraising commitment
Upon registration participants will receive directions on how to setup their team fundraising page on Razoo. Participants will also receive a digital fundraising toolkit, which includes fundraising ideas, tips, and templates to help you reach your goal.
The deadline to register is September 29!
VOBS has a limited number of canoes available for use on a first-come, first-served basis. If you need to use a VOBS canoe, please request it in your registration.
Participants are responsible for transportation to/from program site. Please be prepared for all kinds of weather.
We look forward to joining you in this bold fundraiser to change lives through challenge and discovery!
