We look forward to seeing you at Vivid '11!
A dynamic evening of music featuring selections by jazz great Miles Davis and classical solo performances by award-winning soloists in Roosevelt University’s Chicago College of Performing Arts (CCPA) will make up the program of Vivid 2011.
CCPA’s Hard Bop Jazz Combo will open the concert with a medley of Miles Davis tunes in honor of Davis’ 85th birthday. CCPA solo competition winners Chanmi Ryu, who will perform Edvard Grieg’s Piano Concerto and soprano Teresa Duddy, singing Knoxville: Summer of 1915 by Samuel Barber, are also highlighted.
Led by guest conductor Rebecca Miller, the CCPA Symphony Orchestra also will close the program with Tchaikovsky’s Capriccio Italien.
The eighth annual Vivid concert is CCPA’s largest student performance event of the year. “This is an opportunity for all to see and hear the promising young talent at Chicago College of Performing Arts,” said Henry Fogel, Dean of CCPA.
