Lean Venturing based on the Business Modeling Starter Kit

Learning is the way from great ideas to practice. A Business Modeling Starter Kit enables entrepreneurial teams to explore the range of ideas and viable business models for a new or existing business. Results provide the basis for business model implementation that proceeds through iterative exploration, elaboration, evaluation, experimentation and evolution of assumptions. It was iteratively refined through dozens of workshops with startups and corporate venture projects especially from the German telecommunication industry. We present the facilitation approach and project experiences.

Introducing the Strongly Sustainable Business Model Canvas - a new tool for Business Model Innovation

You know you need an innovative business model for your business to succeed; you're also concerned about humanity's impact on our planet and what that might mean for your children and grandchildren's ability to flourish.    But what questions do you need to answer to design an innovative business model that will be financially, socially and environmentally sustainable?  This talk will introduce the Strongly Sustainable Business Model Canvas, a visual design tool for innovative business models that integrates concerns for people, planet and profit.

Matt Tanguay

MATT TANGUAY
CEO & Chief Visual Facilitator @ Fluent Brain, Founder of Visual Thinking Hub

Matt has always been fascinated with information. At an early age on his commodore 64, he would type text and make drawings with letters for hours in a row.

He went on to get his bachelor’s in Computer Science at Université Laval in Quebec city. In a communication class, he was first exposed to mind mapping. During his 7 years as an IT consultant, this simple technique proved to be very effective at capturing and analysing his clients’ needs, as well as brainstorming and solving problems.

An entrepreneur at heart, Matt explored different avenues – personal and professional coaching, information products and business events. Within those projects, he continued to apply and master mind mapping. In 2009, he started training on that technique at AFI expertise and with his own clients.

He then went on to master various visual thinking processes, such as those introduced by Eli Goldratt, Edward De Bono, Alexander Osterwalder & Yves Pigneur, and many more.

He is a CEO Space graduate of 12/09, an international business forum dedicated to training and connecting business leaders.

He now works remotely with clients all over the world, mostly what he calls Business Builders (business consultants and consulting firms, coaches, mentors, incubators and accelerators). He has a particular interest for projects that include language and culture barriers to overcome.
